Investing in sustainable communities
Lancashire Housing Partnership is committed to re-investing volume cost savings directly back into local businesses, employment and training.
Specifically:
- to commit 2% of the value of the programme to undertake coordination, programme management and regeneration activity
- to ensure the training of 2 trainees for every £1m of works (ex materials) with:
- 5% of such trainees being female
- 10% of such trainees being of ethnic origin
- 5% of such trainess having disbilities
- 5% of such trainees being ex-offenders
- 10% of such trainees being from the NEET group
- 80% of all LHP trainees to remain in training and complete NVQ2
- every year to support at least one micro-business from non-traditional (female or BME) background
- during the period of the business plan to increase social enterprise across Lancashire, taking account of existing partner initiatives, in order to support the consortium's training objectives
By better procurement processes LHP deliver financial savings to clients and generate a trust fund for reinvesting in regeneration.
This is not simply about money and cost savings – it's about investment in skills and local communities.
LHP is a vehicle for regeneration and a unique interventionist approach to force changes. There is Board commitment to use the procurement capacity to make a difference, and by joining us as clients Social Housing Providers must also share that commitment.
